The railway line between Kaskinen and Seinäjoki must be repaired

The cargo freight on the railway line between Kaskinen and Seinäjoki would be multiplied if the east-west transport corridor would be realized.
The future of the railway track is unfortunately unclear and local actors including municipalities, business life and forest industry are appealing for investment money for the track.
Local actors and NECL II -project arranged a seminar for the railway track and presented a new study made of renovation of the track. The renovation would demand ca. 120 M€ from the state.
Transporting for example forest industry products by rail is also a more eco-friendly alternative, which is aligned to EU:s goals.
