New report: Business plan of a logistical centre in Seinäjoki

There is currently no large, common, user logistics centre in the Seinäjoki sub-region which is an industrious and fast-growing region. The need of a new logistics area and its location has been earlier evaluated in NECL II -project, but also in other projects.

Seinäjokis geographical location is apparent when combined with international freight flow corridors through Finland (for example Midnordic Green Transport Corridor, Nordic Logistic Corridor and Bothnian Green Logistic Corrridor), which all pass through the city of Seinäjoki and aim to simplify distribution of goods by all ways of communication.
The success of the municipal logistics area of Seinäjoki depends remarkably on what kinds of solutions and restrictions are made when deciding on the business entity.

These new reports (by Vectura, 2013) estimate how the goals will be reached and also eg. cost estimations.

In Seinäjoki the plans are to expand the current logistics area and add services to it during the next two years. The area will expand from the current 300 hectares to over 600 hectares and will be a significant logistics centre in Finland. Nordic Logistic City is a modern and green intermodal centre.
