Investment studies on E14 in Sweden

Improvements of transport infrastructure for preparation of investments on E14 in Sweden including Östersund.

Together with the railways along the route, the E14 is part of the Midnordic Green Transport Corridor from Trondheim in Norway via Östersund and Sundsvall in Sweden and on into Finland. It has an important function for trade and industry´s transportation needs, the visiting industry and for commuting in the areas around Östersund and Sundsvall. It also brings together consignments at the nodes on the E45 and the E4 and major national roads.

This report is one of the activities in the North East Cargo Link II EU project (NECL II). In 2011, bottlenecks, need for measures and the impact of the corridor were studied on a general level (activity 3.1). The present report is a continuation of that work and focuses on trafficability for freight transport on the E14.
